My Thoughts on the 2024 Election Results
I’m not sure how I feel about some of the analyses and predictions coming in, anticipating the first six months of the new administration. At one point, I might have said that these predictions were the insane ravings of a lunatic mind that had smoked too much weed and chased it down with rotgut. Now I’m not so sure. Here’s why some are possible, and some are not. You will note I put in links to information on certain subjects for further review by those who were not informed of these developments.
1.
The president-elect is a very lazy man. He doesn’t
want to read briefs every morning when he shows up in the office. He wants the
absolute minimum spoon fed to him with just enough data for him to make a snap
judgement so he can hurry off to his golf game or rage tweet over his KFC 2pc
and a biscuit meal. This was a habit of his from his last time in office, and I
see no reason to think he has changed his ways, since he golfed often even
while running a reelection campaign.
2.
Herschel Walker will be in charge of the missile
defense? According to Forbes,
yes. The same guy who flashed a fake badge during his debate with Rev. Warner. The
same one who faced allegations of domestic abuse. He’s a football player with
no experience of defense work. Y’all
start building those bomb shelters if you live far away from a military base.
3.
RF
Kennedy Jr will oversee “Health.” That includes the FDA, the Department of
Health and Human Services and other things. RFK is a known anti-vaxxer who also
wants to stop putting fluoride in the water. Yeah, that’s going to go well, if
he makes it through Congress. I’m going to grow my own garden and herbs.
4.
Elon
Musk will oversee a newly created Department of Government Efficiency. He can’t
hold an official position because not only does his companies have a lot of
government contracts (conflict of interest, anyone?) but he’d have to be vetted
through Congress, and that includes turning over all his financial records. Considering
how he purchased and then ruined Twitter, I don’t have high hopes for foreign
policy and the economy.
5.
And now we come to the new
Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles. She does worry me because she’s a lifelong
Republican operative who has the good sense to stay firmly in the background
and let the attention hoes have the spotlight. She’s known to be an excellent
strategist, if she can get the president elect to listen to her. If she can’t,
she may not last too long.
Do I think there will be mass deportations of millions? No.
There will be some, for sure, but even if he commandeered every law enforcement
officer from every local, state and federal department, he wouldn’t have the
people or money to deport millions. That’s a whole lot of cash. It would take close
to a year to build the gulags/encampments, even using the military’s efficiency.
Taking all that law enforcement from their usual duties would cause quite a bit
of havoc. Military recruitment to do the job would be problematic as well,
considering that only
about 23% of the youth of America are fit to serve and meet their standards.
To institute the draft would be even more problematic.
With the announcement of who would be the next border czar,
immigrants –even legal ones-- should be fearful, however. Trump
announces "border czar" will be Tom Homan, former head of immigration
enforcement - CBS News Not even anchor babies will be safe. Anyone without
an American birth certificate has the possibility of being deported, even those
who should be “legal” like fully naturalized citizens. Even the small minority
of people they do catch and try to toss out will be treated very cruelly. The
only ray of sunshine are 17 blue states like California who have promised to
fight.
We can also call a certain amount of bullcr*p on his using
the military against civilians due to the Posse Comitatus Act.
Even the lowliest private with the intelligence of a rock has the right to
refuse an unlawful order. The Army National Guard and the Coast Guard are
exempt from the law, but I just can’t imagine any branch of the military liking
the idea of going against their own people. The military are wisely not commenting, but
the brass isn’t stupid. However, neither are most politicians. They will advise
the president-elect to frame it in such a way as to make any orders legal, such
as invoking the Alien
and Sedition Act.
The tariffs issue is already biting the Tangerine Palpatine
in the butt, and I hope he’s enjoying the lesson in economics. Companies have
had this contingency
plan ready, and they’re implementing steps to protect themselves now. The
jobs are going to lower priced manufacturers, not back to American workers. The
usually begrudged holiday bonuses are being diverted into bonded warehousing as
many imported supplies that can be purchased ahead of the inevitable price
increases to cover the tariffs and the tariff wars to follow. I’m sure that the
employees will be shocked to learn that there will be no holiday bonuses, a
hiring freeze is now in effect, and there might be layoffs. At minimum, the
company will be raising prices to the consumer of their product. That is a
certainty. Some have already raised prices to cover their costs of warehousing
supplies.
